DIRECTIONS FOR DANCES AT HIGHLANDVILLE

To get to Highlandville from Decorah (about 13.5 mi.):
Take College Drive to Locust Road (W38) - Follow Locust Road about 9.4 mi. (going northeast) until you come to the intersection with A26 at the Locust church & school (there is a sign indicating Highlandville) - Turn right (east) onto A26 and follow for a little over 2.5 mi. to the intersection with A24 just before the Big Canoe Church - follow the turn left (north) onto A24 and follow for a little over 1.5 mi. to Highlandville - Drive all the way through Highlandville, past the Highland General Store and over the North Bear Creek bridge (you'll see the schoolhouse on your left as you cross the creek) - The schoolhouse driveway is to the left, just beyond the bridge. We recommend you keep in mind the fact that there is no running water at the schoolhouse, and that the restroom facilities consist of outhouses. There is a working refrigerator (ancient) at the schoolhouse for keeping beverages cool.

The Highlandville Schoolhouse
The Highlandville Schoolhouse, built in 1911, is our regular monthly venue for dances throughout the warm months of the year (April-October). It has been the location of community old-time dances for nearly 30 years. Foot-Notes hopes to continue making use of the building in the years to come. Please join us!
